Thursday, 26 August 2010 00:00

At the invitation of Berovo Municipality, Macedonia, Children's Dance Ensemble „Ralichki” and soloists of the vocal studio „Casey” from the Municipal Children's Complex Dve Mogili participated in the International Ethnic Festival held in Berovo on 26, 27 and 28 August this year. The event is part of the Project "A network for Culture, Sport and Tourism” with the following partners: Trzebnica County, Poland; Campulung County, Romania; Dve Mogili Municipality and Popovo Municipality, Bulgaria and Negotino Municipality and Berovo Municipality, Macedonia.

The festival that is organized for the second time has purpose to familiarize the participants from different countries with the folklore and traditions of neighboring regions and also to promote cultural and natural landmarks of the host town. We would like to remind you that in 2009 Dve Mogili Municipality and Berovo Municipality signed a contract of cooperation and mutual aid in the sociocultural, sporting and economic fields. The Mayor of Dve Mogili Municipality - Dragomir Damyanov was an official guest of his Macedonian colleague, together with the mayors of all municipalities which are partners with Berovo.

The last festival day coincided with the biggest Christian holiday Assumption of Mary that is also a celebration of Berovo. On this day people from all over Macedonia go to the Monastery of the Most Holy Mother of God and become a part of church national feast. The municipality received over 30 000 guests during the feast. Perfect organization, excellent conditions and great hospitality – these were impressions of the ethno festival participants who came back from Dve Mogili.
